Recipes and tips to enjoy the festivities in a healthy way

It is so easy to get swept up in the holiday season. You know the thing, not only do we have more gatherings with friends and family, Christmas picnics, and end-of-the-year farewells, but it also is hectic time with that extra pressure of getting everything done in time.  What’s not to love?  Well, the finger foods, buffets and sugary treat that we all love but aren’t so good for us.

We have collected some recipe ideas and tricks that will get you through the silly season with ease:

Bring a healthy snack. Contribute a healthy dish to a gathering to ensure there’s something you can indulge in. For example our Zucchini wrapped Chipolatas or Bun-less Mini Burger will be a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

Eat breakfast. This has been shown to prevent overeating later in the day.  This Chipolata Mini Quiche or Chipolata and Egg Breakfast Sandwich recipe will keep you full for longer.

Plan healthy meals. Having healthy meals planned and prepared throughout the day, will help to resist the take-away line. Find more healthy recipe ideas for breakfast, lunch and dinner here.

Avoid going hungry to parties. Eat something light before the party to reduce your chances of snacking on high calorie party food.  Our Chipolata, Asparagus and Zucchini Slice is perfect either beforehand, or even to bring as a party food.

And last but not least, Choose foods wisely. Filling your plate with low-calorie items, such as leafy green salads and lean proteins, helps eating lower calories without feeling deprived.

We hope you have a healthy and enjoyable festive season.
